IT Power is a leading international energy consultancy, which specialises in all aspects of sustainable energy, including financing, engineering, policy and the development of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. The company has been a pioneer in sustainable energy and energy efficiency projects worldwide, and since its formation more than 24 years ago, has completed over 900 projects in 100 countries around the world. IT Power has been closely involved with the development of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in Asia and worldwide. IT Power has a multi-lingual, international team of experienced energy specialists. The company has a permanent professional staff of 30 in the UK, including engineers, rural development experts, sociologists and economists who offer a broad pool of experience covering all major Renewable Energy and energy efficiency technologies and all aspects of the project cycle from conception through to (post-implementation) project evaluation. The company can also draw on the expertise of some 50 staff and associates worldwide. The company’s head office is located in Chineham, Hampshire (UK). Overseas offices are located in Australia, India, Mongolia, China, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda and the USA.

IT Power India (ITPI), a subsidiary of IT Power Ltd. UK, is a leading international energy and environmental research and consultancy firm specializing in Renewable Energy engineering and climate change. The company's work ranges from policy development, to project finance, to design and installation of Renewable Energy projects. IT Power India has completed over 90 projects in more than 20 countries, with offices in Pondicherry, Pune and Delhi. IT Power Carbon is a division of IT Power Group and comprises of a team of experienced specialists on climate change and Renewable Energy policy and implementation strategies. The team members have been involved in project and policy development, environmental markets and capacity building. They have been involved in both global climate change issues, including the Kyoto Protocol negotiations, and national and international Renewable Energy developments.

IT Power Carbon has been involved in Clean Development Mechanism and Joint Implementation-type projects since the Kyoto Protocol agreement in 1997. The IT Power Carbon team’s involvement has included project development, technical assessment, business plan, financing, baseline study and project design document (PDD), project bundling, and marketing of the emission reductions. IT Power Carbon advises project developers in the use of emissions markets as a means of securing finance for projects and compiles detailed PDDs for the realisation of carbon value from energy schemes. The IT Power Carbon team is also developing new baseline and monitoring methodologies for CDM projects. Projects involve a wide range of energy technologies, including wind, PV, hydro, biomass, solar water heating, CHP, coal mine methane and landfill gas utilisation.

Partnership: IT Power (UK) and IT Power India already work together in many projects and all staff involved in this proposed project work as part of IT Power Carbon which is the IT Power Group’s global team of experienced specialists focusing on climate change and energy policy. The team has been active in global climate change issues and has been at the forefront of the implementation of energy and climate change policies in the UK, India and China, and across the world. Specialists from IT Power Carbon will be drawn in for this study. IT Power India and IT Power UK have partnered to successfully implement a 2-year part-funded EU Commission capacity building project on bundling small-scale CDM projects, during which this proposed project was identified as a need by small-scale project developers.
